Car Prices Go Up 3rd time in India

In India, prices of the cars are now witnessing next hike in almost all car models from all carmakers. This is the 3rd time the carmakers hiking prices of their car models this year.

Costs for almost all metals have risen in a past few months and car manufacturers are forced to increase the prices for their car models due to increasing input prices. Copper, nickel, aluminium, plastic, steel and rubber costs have increased suddenly which has affected the manufacturing prices.

Auto manufacturer shall increase their car costs by Rs 5K on small cars to Rs 12K on the luxury brand models. HSCI has already hikes costs of their model City by Rs 15K, Civil by Rs 20K and new Accord by Rs 30K. Maruti said that they shall also hike the car costs after market review. GM also evaluating their options to hike the car costs and their impact on the industry’s market share.
