Bosch to Make ABS in India by 2009

Bosch, the German Auto Component Maker, is growing their product offerings in Indian market with the plans to begin making anti-lock brake system here by 2009 as they goals for 20% increase each year.
The industry is also planning to launch additional products like ultra quite alternators and navigation system as the part of their India growth strategy.
By next March-April, we will start manufacturing anti- lock braking systems (ABS) from our production facility at Pune. This is in line with our future plans to offer latest products to our Indian customers.

The industry is setting up the new production plant at their current facility in Pune for a purpose to meet supply requirements of their current global original equipment (OE) clients like Honda, Toyota and Hyundai.
They announced the investment of Rs 2300 crore to be built between the year 2006 and 2010 for their entire Indian expansion.
The investment on the ABS units will be a part of the already announced plans. We will be making these kinds of investments every year.

In 2006 they invested Rs 400 crore, while in 2007, Rs 450 crore.
According to the company official, the Bosch will start making the ABS in India, supplies to its current global clients such as Toyota, Hyundai and Honda would be routed through the Indian functions.
