BMW Delay Plans to Launch Mini in India
Posted on April 20th 2008Welcome back!
BMW has said that they are not going to launch their mini compact car in the India in 2009.
According to Mr. Peter Kronschnabl (BMW India President), the Indian market is not feasible for launching the car, but this does not mean that they have discarded their plans for mini car’s launch in India.
They have ended a feasibility study that indicated that situations were not suitable to bring the car in India.
Originally Mini car was the British car brand which was purchased by BMW. Even if Mini is small-sized car, it brings the cost tag nearly same as that of premium cars and having an iconic brand/status.
The postponement of Mini will help other German carmaker VW which plans to bring its ‘Beetle’ model in Indian market this year.
