The need for combination of sporty and elegant appearance in cars, lead BMW to launch the 5-series sedans. Beautifully designed, somewhat settled shape, 17″ sparkling alloys and e-class lavish interior defines the BMW 5-series! These sedans are rated among the bets wheels available across the globe. Drive any of the petrol or diesel variants of the BMW series at an express highway and you will surely experience, what the wheel is capable of doing with the 177 Bhp offered by the engine!
 Not just the sporty appearance that makes the 5-series so admirable, but the vehicle has got almost all the “must-added” features, for a e-class sedan. The entire length of the car is quite compact, unlike the extreme lengths of the market rivals, Mercedes cars. The interior is equipped with the most recent driving assistance and safety systems. Comments :Unbeatable engine performance and highly appealing shape and shine are what identify the BMW brand. The new 5-series sedans by BMW are brilliant combinations of sporty flavored exterior accompanied by neat and royal-looking interior.  The car delivers best in class power with a 2.0L, 4-cylinder in-line diesel engine. The peak power is 177 Bhp and the peak torque is 35 kg-m. These extra-ordinary power/torque generations enable the car to reach the speed range of above 150 km/h, effortlessly. To accompany the extra ordinary engine performances, the car exterior is crafted beautifully, with nicely shaped assemblies and fresh looking beige tones. The front view looks tremendously passionate with the sloppy bonnet, curved headlights and the most stunning of course, the centrally divided radiator grill. The windscreen is profoundly clear and is with green shade band. The other exterior highlights are, the Chrome line assemblies, Glass roof, electric with sliding and tilting function, Headlight beam-throw control, Sunblind for rear side windows, Xenon lights with headlight washer system, etc. The powerful engine of 520d demands highly standardized and effective safety systems for the car. BMW has taken every care to achieve high end safety in the 5-series sedans. All the most recent and electronically controlled safety features such as ABS, Brake Assist, Central locking, Power door locks, Child safety locks, Tyres pressure monitor, vehicle stability control system are included in this sedan. The BMW 520d uses standard but powerful suspension system with  Double joint spring-strut axle at the front and Aluminum integral axle at the rear. Some other advance safety systems in BMW 5-series are Alarm system, Bumper system with interchangeable crumple zones(front and rear), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Front belt system with height adjustment, belt force limiter and pyrotechnic belt buckle tensioner, etc. A special feature in 520d is the Runflat tyres. These tyres are provided with special side-wall reinforcement. Also at the driver position, a special Runflat indicator is provided to inform the punctures in the tyres. The absolute peculiarity of the tyres is that, they can run the car up to 250 km, even if they have any puncture spot! That’s really cool! The interior looks awesome with the wooden trim, velour floor mats and the roof paneling. The sporty appearance of the car is not limited to the exterior shaping only! The audio system with 10 loudspeakers is able to make long journey real rocking! In brief, it is just the perfect! Pros :

Bottom Line :  The price range for the new 520d is around INR 35, 00, 000 (which is surely high!), however the exceptionally well performing engine and unique safety/comfort utilities totally repays you the price. The major market competitors to the BMW 5-series are the Audi A6 and the Mercedes E-class, however BMW’s expert touch at every aspect of the vehicles maintains its lead at the race!  - |
