Auto makers are all set to launch new models for India festival

The companies such as Tata Motors Ltd, Skoda Auto and Hyundai Motor Co are planning to introduce a slew of cars in India this month. These companies will introduce new cars because they want to win over customers and overturn a slowdown in sales in the biggest automobile market of Asia. A few other companies like Nissan Motor Co, Daimler AG, Honda Motor Co and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd also started selling a few new cars as well as sport-utility vehicles in the month of September ahead of the Diwali season that will start in the month of October. Several consider Diwali festival as an auspicious time for purchasing consumer durables.

The small car Eon will be soon introduced by Hyundai Company in the middle of this month according to Arvind Saxena, director for marketing and sales in the Hyundai Company. He also said that this car will have an 814-cubic centimeter gasoline engine. The aim behind this gasoline engine is that the Hyundai Company wants to make it the small engine capacity car model for Hyundai throughout the world. Mr. Saxena refused to reveal the cost of the Eon. However, local media sports have told that the price of the car will be around 250,000 rupees. It will compete with Alto Model by the market leader company Maruti Suzuki India LTD. The starting price of the Alto is 232,248 at showrooms in Delhi. This car model by Maruti is the highest selling car model in India. Almost 25,000 units have been sold in every month.

“This car [Eon] has been designed primarily keeping the Indian customer in mind,” Mr. Saxena said, adding that most parts for the car will be sourced from local vendors.

Hyundai is going to make the Eon car at its facility news the Chennai City that began taking order for the Eon. The new models will be introduced if the Indian automobile market is reeling from the great impact of increasing loan rates as well as high fuel prices with sales falling almost ten percent in the month of august after a 16% turn down in the month of July. A few automobile companies are in a great hole that newly introduced vehicles will surely help perk up customer feeling as well as revitalize sales same like in earlier times.

“The auto industry is not like the soap industry. Here, people work on the long-term,” said Debasis Ray, a spokesman for Tata Motors. “When people put new products, it increases the market.”

In the month of October, another company called Tata Motors will even introduce an upgraded version of Sumo SUV. This car model features a powerful engine furthermore to a few other changes according to Mr Ray. According to the director for Sales and Marketing, Thomas Kuehl Skoda Auto India is going to make the worldwide debut of an entry-level car in the recent quarter. Another leading auto company Hero MotoCorp Ltd will launch its first bike called the Impulse in the two-wheeler segment.
