Audi’s S6 Sedan and Q3 SUV – to be launched in 2012 in India

Audi aims to achieve a 40 percent sales growth in 2012 and with this achievement it also plans to bring its sports utility vehicle Q3 and sedan s6 to India in 2012. The German luxury car maker plans to introduce the two models in the upcoming Auto Expo to be held in Delhi next month. Besides this development, the company is also planning to bring in smaller SUV models such as Q3 to India.
Speaking about these developments, Michael Perschke, Audi India Head said, “The study is going on to introduce S6 in the Indian market. We are thinking to launch it during the second quarter of next year. We may launch Q3 in India very soon. It will most probably come in during the second half of 2012″. At the Auto Expo 2012, the company will also display the electric hybrid version of its A3 model.
Last year Audi sold 3003 units and speaking about the sales, Michael Perschke said, “We are expecting to end the current year with about 80 percent sales jump. We have already crossed 5,100 units and hope to sell a total of about 5,400 units for the entire 2012. In 2012, the Indian luxury market is predicted to grow by 30-40 percent. We are expecting a jump of minimum 50 percent next year that is about 8,000 units.” He also added that 1500 units from the expected sales will be from the imported models.
Currently, the company is present in 15 locations and as part of its dealership expansion plans, by the end of next year it plans to add dealers at another 23 locations. In an earlier announcement, Audi India had informed about its aim to become the market leaders by 2015 in the Indian luxury car segment by outshining its competitors like Mercedes Benz and BMW.
