Aston Martin is all set and ready to a debut for the racing tracks with its all new V12 Zagato. The car company has already admitted that it has given the green signal to the road going model of the jaw dropping two-seater coupe, having the racing DNA.

Aston Martin

The British manufacturer has made a thumping return after its collaboration with the iconic design house and coachbuilder Ferrari, as it is going to be one of the added attractions for the Villa d’Este Concours in Italy, competing with Ferrari’s Superamerica 45, the two sporting legends will demand quite a lot of attraction.

The car is based on a V12 Vantage engine. According to news, the V12 Zagato is designed in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Aston Martin’s first association with the Italian car company. Likewise, the super car, DB4GT Zagato, is the new variant that will be focusing on improvising an existing package for motorsport. The car which has a V12 motor is in standard tune, and therefore, it produces a stunning 510bhp and that too with a powerful 58.67kgm of torque.

All this is due to the team work between Aston Martin chief designer Marek Reichman and Zagato, who have managed to design a stripped-out body shell, complete with a sexy roll cage and bare dashboard. It also results in a considerable weight saving effort that is likely to achieve the staggering 0-62mph time in less than 4 seconds. The chassis has been engineered by a Chris Porritt and is leading the team including veterans of Astons Martin’s engineers. This car also features a pre imposed version of the regular V12 Vantage’s double-wishbone suspension, which make the racing car full of surprises.

The V12 Zagato is going to make its racing debut at the VLN 4 hour race at the Nürburgring, the location in Germany where it will feature an extreme aerodynamic design, and a sleeker and sexier package. One of the cars will be driven by Aston CEO Dr Ulrich Bez, and will deal with the Nürburgring race. It’s understood that the car will be eligible for national-level race series too, which are supposedly known as “gentleman’s racing”, according to an Aston source. But according to the reports, there are no plans from the company that the Zagato will make it to the FIA GT level.

Bez has also confirmed the report that the car will make its production which is due in coming one year. According to Dr. Bez CEO Aston Martin “The task for us has been to create a concept that is a natural successor to those iconic cars that have gone before,” he said. “Matching the technology of the age with the traditional skills, vital to deliver such a bespoke and exclusive sports car will lead to a strictly limited run of road going V12 Zagatos.”

The on road model will make it to the streets with a huge rear wing, and roll cage, and the super car coupe will dearly introduce more creature comforts in the driver cabin, and more interestingly it is said that the Zagato may even retain some of the racer’s motor sport influenced materials and gizmos, including the anti-glare dashboard surface, which is made from Alcantara.
