Etios sedan, the hatchback version of Toyota has been launched by Toyota Company a few months before and afterwards named it the Liva.  Japanese manufacturer was very tight-lipped about its plans of placing a diesel engine any of the Etios cars however that move has been now taken care of and Etios is now ready to get launched with diesel power. The petrol alternatives of Etios Sedan as well as Liva hatch came about as very practical machines in case of their setups and space and which has been the USP of smallest cars of Toyota in India.

A report on Etios and Liva Diesel variants

Etios used a 1.5 litre gasoline unit giving decent performance whereas Liva petrol uses 1.2 litre. However, when it came down from petrol to diesels, both of these cars use a 1.4 litre engine. The engine of both Etios and Liva is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox for giving the best performance and along with keeping fuel effectiveness unbroken. It has come to known that the complete weight difference between Hatch and the sedan is only 25 kg and hence expected both of them return same effectiveness figures. According to ARAI, the heavier Etios sedan has been licensed for delivering 23.59 kmpl. For knowing the real life figures, it is essential to keep an out for the best road test. The actual differences between both Liva and Etios diesels are cosmetic.

Etios has been preferred by many people as it gets three trim levels having diesel engine. The Liva Diesel will be made available just with the base alternate. Diesel counterparts of both Etios and Liva are classified by the ‘D’ suffix for the variant name. Though the Liva Diesel is made available only in GD variant, the consumers got the option to select a security pack, which contains Airbags as well as ABS for both passengers and driver focusing the commitment to safety given by the Toyota Company. Talking about the interiors of both the models, interior of the Liva diesel is not that much impressive. The interior of the sedan remains impressive. Its equipment levels are also very impressive.

The price of the Etios Twins is the key to the success of them, however if the industry standards considered, it is expected the diesel versions to be almost Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 more costly as compared to their similarly equipped petrol counterparts. People do not need to wait for booking as the right price tags will be made available very soon.
